Presenter and Foundation Coaching Courses
Ireland Touch is pleased to announce the delivery of the following Courses to be held on the weekend of 2nd and 3rd of November in Dublin.
1. Saturday 2nd Nov – Presenter Course
Cost €30 – Start Time 11:00 a.m.
(after the World Cup Rugby Final)
2. Sunday 3rd Nov – Ireland Touch Foundation Coaching Course
Cost €90 – Start TIme 9:00 a.m.
PLEASE NOTE: You do not need to attend both courses. See additional information below. If you wish to deliver the Foundation Course in the future you MUST attend both courses.
The presenter for both courses will be Peter Bell former Australian 4 times World Cup Women’s Open Coach and current Queensland Touch High-Performance Manager. This is Peters 4th trip to Ireland to help progress Touch.
You should attend the Presenter Course if you aspire to:
a. improve your presentation and communication skills
b. deliver future Foundation Coaching Courses
c. deliver the schools’ touch program
You should attend the Foundation Coaching Course if you aspire:
a. refresh your skills
b. want to coach at school, club or for Ireland Touch
c. deliver the future schools’ touch program
All participants will be registered with the TFA Learning Management System (LMS) and their accreditation will be passed on to FIT.
Ireland Touch wants to qualify a number of course presenters for future delivery of the Foundation Course and a touch program for schools. These courses will be some of the pre-requisites for presenting future Foundation Coaching Courses and the schools’ touch program.
Every person is required to pay the course costs.
A decision has been made that for those coaches who are involved in Ireland Teams (e.g. JTC and Euros) some or all of the course costs will be reimbursed to the coach. The manner of the reimbursement has yet to be finalised.
Here is a brief outline of the Foundation Course:
Module 1 – Coaching Processes
Participants will be able to identify the various components, and when to apply them for:
Teaching Games for Understanding,
CHANGE IT in Touch Football,
Touch Football Athlete Development.
Module 2 – Game Concepts and Strategies
Participants will be able to identify the correct descriptions and coaching points for:
Basic understanding of the Rules,
Basic Positional Awareness.
Module 3 – Planning for Coaching
The organised coach is one who plans ahead. This means a lot of preparation involving multiple levels of planning:
Season Training Plan,
Weekly Training Plan.
The Foundation Course is part of the Foundation, Talent, Elite, Mastery (FTEM) Model.
