Liam Carroll Cup 2025
The 2025 Liam Carroll Cup took place yesterday at the Sport Ireland Campus in Abbottstown. The cup is named after the late Liam Carroll who was one of the pioneers of Touch Rugby in Ireland.
The competition was split into two divisions, comprising eleven teams in total. The Division 1 Round Robin stage ended with the Old Wesley Wyverns topping the table unbeaten, closely followed by DSC Wanderers in second place, resulting in a Dublin derby final. Racoon West put in a strong performance taking 3rd place ahead of Old Wesley Dragons, Cooke Warriors and Buccaneers.
Old Wesley Wyverns and DSC Wanderers faced off in a closely contested Cup Final, with both teams going try for try for the first half of the game. Old Wesley Wyverns managed to pull away in the final moments of the game, resulting in a 5-3 victory.
Congratulations to Division One MVPs Emily Pollard (Old Wesley Wyverns) and Finn Keely (DSC Wanderers).

In Division 2, newcomers Barnhall and Terenure were joined by Old Wesley Roosters, the Tipsters and East Coast Touch from Greystones.
The Division 2 Round Robin stage ended with Barnhall remaining unbeaten and topping the table, followed by Old Wesley Roosters who secured two wins and two draws. Old Wesley Roosters beat Terenure to secure their spot in the final, where they were joined by newcomers MU Barnhall. Meanwhile, the Tipsters defeated East Coast Touch to claim fourth place.
Old Wesley Roosters and MU Barnhall had earlier played out an exciting 2-2 draw in the round robin, however, MU Barnhall upped their game and won a convincing 5-1 victory in the final. Well done to Jake O'Brien, James Smith and company for winning their first piece of silverware.
